Fear- the Biggest Mother F-er

Fear will kill the vision of Jesus. It is the biggest mother f-er there is. It will mess you up.

Romans 8:15 " For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ABBA, Father."

Without Jesus we live by fear, but when we follow Jesus we are now Sons and Daughters of God. And as such we can come to Him without fear.

If Jesus wants you to do something and you are afraid, then do what Jesus asks even if you are afraid. If you don't then fear has more influence in your life then Jesus does. If you are a Jesus follower then you need to stand up and flip fear the bird. Otherwise your life is not going to be God led.

Wisdom said what?

Proverbs says that Wisdom is calling out in the streets. What is wisdom? It comes from the fear of the Lord (Prov 2:1-6). God is awesome, God is glorious, God is awe inspiring, God is faithful, God is..., there are a million different words that you can use to describe God. They are only words. God is so much more then these simple words, even though these words are the pinnacle of our descriptive language. These words are also what the fear of the Lord is. As a Jesus follower I use these words to try and describe what God has done to give my life meaning. He has changed me. I fear the Lord because I place Him in the forefront of my life. This is wisdom and understanding. When I seek to understand God and to find wisdom, then I will fear the Lord. Wisdom says that those who do not seek knowledge and understanding are simple. Wisdom says that you are a fricking moron if you do not strive to find knowledge and understanding. Wisdom doesn't just say this, wisdom shouts this, " YOU ARE A FRICKING MORON IF YOU DON'T SEEK KNOWLEDGE!" When you do seek knowledge, then you will understand all of the simple words that I use to describe how awesome God is.

Dreaming Big

I have been realizing that I have been limiting what God can do because I do not dream. If my capacity (thank you Samuel Chand) for ministry is limited then what God can do is limited. God can only go as far as you let Him in your life. I am now dreaming big. My dream consists of raising up leaders who are passionate about Kids Ministry, having the best Elementary program in Minnesota, and doing everything possible to point Kids to Christ. What is the point of worshipping an infinite God if you don't let Him use you? Don't limit the unlimitless, and dream big because those big dreams are probably God showing you the vastness of possibility.

Ownership

What do you own? Houses, cars, TVs, movies, video games, clothes (I hope). You own a lot of things. What do you own in the church? Do you own Worship? Do you own Parking? Do you own First Impressions? Do you own Kids Ministry? What do you take ownership of in the church?

Wow, that's a lot of questions. I hope you can answer them. God wants you to own a ministry because people who follow Christ are called pastors. Eric is teaching Christians how they can own a ministry. Are you listening and learning? Find your passion and use that to minister to others who don't know Christ. Don't just volunteer, pastor your area in The Crossing. If you have a passion to clean toilets, then you would have to step down to teach the services on the weekend.

What are you going to own? How about owning your relationship with Jesus and making that more important then anything else. It's easy, just change everything in your life to revolve around Jesus. Own your relationship with Jesus and serve your guts out. You will be amazed at the results.

Conference- Yeah God Moment!

If you were not at the Thrill and Move Conference here is what you missed: an entire day devoted to leadership, vision and passion in the church. Eric brought it! All the passion and vision that Eric has was poured out in 4 sessions to about 250 pastors and leaders. And the service at night rocked it out with over 400 people!

Yeah Freakin God! Holy Crap it was awesome!

Thrill and Move is not just a cool slogan that we say, but it is a vision that we follow. We Thrill and Move because God Thrilled and Moved us. We live and breath this at the Crossing, and now pastors and leaders around the state have seen our vision and are hopefully leading their vision for their church.

Yeah God!

My prayer is that everyone who reads this will take the time to pray for the pastors and leaders who came to the conference. I will be praying that God gives these pastors the leadership and vision that their churches need to have God make their churches explode.
