Getting Old
Well, it has happened. I am now growing white hair in my beard. It was a shock yesterday when I looked in the mirror and there was a long white hair in my beard. Nikki said that I will look distinguished when I am old and gray, well, that time is here! I don't feel distinguished.

The death of a pet
Well, it didn't take long for Nemo the fish to go and see his heavenly Father. The poor beta didn't stand a chance. Hannah was heart broken at the loss of her favorite (and only) fish. So, we have had two fish die on us, Dori and Nemo. But don't worry, there are still a lot of characters in "Finding Nemo" that we can use! I think the next pet will be something with fur.

Pet Shopping
I decided (and by that I mean Nikki and I) that I should take Hannah and Isaac to a pet store and pick out a pet. We looked at birds, and fish, and cats, and hermit crabs, and hamsters, and mice, and rats. I was really hoping for a hamster, but Hannah and Isaac were not as thrilled about that prospect. They both decided that they wanted a beta fish (which they both decided should be named Nemo)and so our family now has a new pet fish named Nemo. I have decided that I want a pet rat. I have never wanted a pet rat, but looking at them today I really wanted one. Did you know that you can teach them to come when called by their name and to sit on your shoulder? I didn't. Pixar would be proud!

The Crossing
So Nikki and I have been trying to find a church around where we live. The church that we are going to now is called "The Crossing" and we love it. It is a seeker friendly church that is cutting edge (they played a Motley Crue song the first week we were there), but the reason that I personally like it is that the vision and heart of the church is exactly where my heart is. The Crossing is presenting Jesus and the Bible in a way that invites people to question Christianity and leads people to truly question the reality of Jesus. My whole life has been spent dealing with people who are disillusioned with the church and Christianity so this church feels a lot like home to me. I like the fact that the focus of the church is centered around people who are not Christians and presents Jesus in a real and relavant way to everybody. When I become a minister this is the kind of church that I want to be apart of.
