Things I Learned Last Friday

Last Friday I learned a lot, which makes sense because that's what I have titled this blog. I learned that Great Danes are truly amazing animals. I also learned that they are very protective, as one bit me in the face. I have a nice cut above my left eyebrow and a punctured lip on the right side. I did nothing to provoke the bite. The owners were truly nice people and I felt bad that I had to call the police and make a report (the bite happened while I was at work). I learned that giving grace to someone means that you think of them before yourself. I spent most of my time trying to make the owners feel better about the fact that I was bitten in the face. I learned that "Urgent Care" is not always open, even though it was urgent (this was by far the funniest part of this story). Isaac told me afterwards that if a dog tries to bite me again I should "kick in his face". I learned that my kids are really protective of their daddy. I also learned that a lot of people think that law suits are the American way of dealing with misfortune. The dog was just trying to protect the house from a strange man that he had never seen before. If the dog had truly attacked me I would probably still be in the hospital. Last Friday I learned that despite misfortune I should always give people the grace that God gives to me.
