Comfort
Jesus died horribly. As a Christian I believe this. I also believe that HE was raised from the dead. My question is this: If Jesus died horribly, why do Christians believe that nothing bad should ever happen to them? Christians need to start realizing that Jesus did not die for their comfort. He died so that we can be forgiven. Forgiven does not mean comfort because comfort is not the goal. Our lives are the goal, knowing God is the goal, having a relationship with us is the goal. Christians need to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. What do I mean? I mean that Jesus did not die so that you can have a Jaguar or a Lexus. As a Christian we are called to tell the world about this amazing man named Jesus who died for them. People are going to HATE you for that. Get used to it! Christians are in the business of showing people God's love no matter how badly they beat you. Love, Love, Love, Love, LOVE! Not condemnation, Love. And the people who are most likely to beat you, are going to be other Christians. Mainly because you make them uncomfortable with the fact that they are fake, useless, piles of religious doggy doo. Jesus has called us to become targets: of religious doggy doo piles, and of people who hate us just because we call Jesus God. Oh Well, Whatever!
